About Kirk McGuire
Kirk McGuire
was born in the wonderful Sierra Nevada foothills of Placerville, Ca. in 1960. At the age of only four his parents noticed his amazing artistic abilities. This pleased them, because Kirk's Mom was a artist as well.
From a very early age he had a strong love and interest in art and wildlife, and wanted to be a artist. He is also a distant relative of our late president John Quincy Adams, who was known to be very artistic.
In 1983 he was blessed with a call from his older brother. Who had been living in Monterey, Ca. And was a bronze finisher at the Monterey Sculpture Center, a large art foundry in Monterey. He told Kirk about bronze sculptures, and thought he would like creating them.
So Kirk moved to Monterey in 1983 and became a metal finisher, and mold maker for the Monterey Sculpture Center. And worked in the bronze foundry for nine years learning all he could about creating bronze sculptures.
1992 Kirk decided it was time to leave the foundry, to persue his own bronze sculpture. Since Kirk started selling his sculpture, he has sold over 1,500 of his limited edition sculptures.
He loves making bronze sculpture. And has been creating his amazing works of art for over twenty years.
Kirk has sculpted over eighty sculptures to date. Including a large line of sealife, and mammals, birds, stylized dinosaurs, stylized mermaids, and bronze door knockers.
Kirk has also started offering some sculpture in "Raku" ceramics, which can be seen at his raku galleries.
He has been comissioned to do a horse and tiger sculpture for the Princess of a Malysian State. and has also been the featured artist several times in the popular Singapore magazine, "The Singapore Tatler." He has shown his work at the Loe-van Gallery in Shaw Centre Singapore as well.
Kirk also has a line of sea turtle sculptures that are very popular in the U.S.A. , and at a very nice jewelery store on St. John Virgin Islands.
Kirk's sculptures defy gravity with a graceful balance, and spark one's imagination. His use of patina's commands attention to detail, feeding the soul and creating an emotional impact. He is truly a fine artist, and master of his craft...
New venture: Kirk has sold his amazing sculpture in many fine galleries around the globe for fifteen years.
And had a great time doing so. But for the past few years he has decided to take over the helm, and be the only one retailing his fine art bronzes. Selling online at his own web galleries, and at art and wine festivals, or private art shows. Offering his wonderful works of art direct to the collectors at a considerable reduction. If you have interest in one of his works, please send a e mail with all your questions in regards to that sculpture.
